SUMMARY
Installation of mechanical piping and process equipment. Includes working within industrial facilities. Completing demolitions of existing facilities and process flows and installation of new mechanical systems process equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Align pipes in pipeline sections according to specifications.
2. Flange Pipe make-up
3. Sweats Copper
4. Signals operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of pipes
and process equipment.
5. Ensure pipes are fitted and aligned using grade rods and/or transit levels.
6. Installation of interior PVC Piping, Thread Piping, in-line instrumentation
7. Assists others with hands-on work, including but not limited to, concrete, pipelaying and excavation
8. Works in a safe and responsible manner at all times.

QUALIFICATIONS

2. Handle basic hand tools, such as shovel, pick, broom, hammer, saw, paint brushes, etc.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Minimum six months related experience and/or training.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one– or two–step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. The employee may also work in a confined space which requires use of a respirator. The employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to high precarious places. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
