Description

Provides technical support to insure hardware and software operations run efficiently within the Company’s IT network.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Establishes and maintains the network (users, directories, security, etc.)
  • Loads and performs upgrades to software
  • Assists users with “help desk” support
  • Maintains network of computers, printers, fax machines and other devices
  • Trains users in the operation of the network and on specific software applications
  • Sets-up hardware and networks at remote project sites
  • Maintains systems and executes processes that manage computer files, databases, data security and disaster recovery
  • Provides technical programming assistance in support of systems applications
  • Troubleshoots and maintains hardware and software on a preventative as well as a corrective basis
  • Monitors system integrity by utilizing firewall, anti-virus and anti-spam applications
  • Stays informed of IT trends that will impact the Company
  • Identifies outdated equipment, software and work flow bottlenecks and recommends solutions
 

Education and Experience:

  • A bachelor’s degree or 2 year associates degree in a Computer Science or Computer Information Systems
  • 2 to 5 years of experience as a support technician

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Understands computer hardware, Microsoft’s latest Operating Systems, Office Software, and computer peripherals
  • Excellent analytical, technical and oral/written communication skills
  • Willingness to learn new skills and other software programs needed to complete task assigned.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks accurately to meet deadlines
  • Must present positive & professional image.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills. 
  • Must be punctual and dependable.
  • End User friendly attitude with a passion for information services support
