Corman Kokosing Construction, leading heavy highway, bridge, & utility contractor in the Mid-Atlantic region, has an opening for a certified Welder with fabrication and structural experience.  Previous experience with bridge or Marine construction preferred.

SUMMARY

Design, fabricate, join, and repair equipment, fixtures, and structures by using various welding techniques.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, fabricate, join, and/or repair equipment, fixtures and various types of metal objects and structures using oxygen-acetylene, electric arc, MIG and TIG welding techniques.
• Operate drill presses, power saws, grinders, metal lathes and a variety of welding equipment and hand tools.
• Traveling to various job sites for repairs.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

• AWS D1.1 or 1.5 certified preferred
• Class B CDL license or ability to obtain

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Analyze plans, drawings, work samples, specifications, and work orders to determine work requirements.
• Work while tied off to fall protection.
• Skilled in use of necessary hand and power tools.
• Calculate figures and amounts such as area, read rule, calculate measurements.
• Ability to apply concepts of geometry.
• Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standard situations.
• Work or walk on uneven ground or onboard floating equipment.
• Access and egress to barges, boats and piers requires ability to do so from moving surfaces due to water motion. Mu

• Lift/move up to 50 pounds.
• Understand English.
